When Your Strength Is Tested

I’ve always been considered the strong one, which can be greatly overrated.

Being the strong one comes with a lot of responsibility and cause one to forget that we are human!!!

I’ve always been the go-to person for advice, a listening ear, words of encouragement/motivation, the Prayer Warrior, the level headed one during moments of chaos, the comedian when laughs are needed, Counselor, the one with the strongest shoulders to lean and cry on; yes that’s me and then some!!!

But, I ask you this…who’s there for me when I need to take the “S” off my chest???

Oh yeah I forgot, no one expects me to be in need because I’m the strong one!!!

The night of April 6, 2018 changed that perspective very quickly! That was the night I loss my best friend, my diary in human form, my 3rd mother (respectfully after mom and grandma), my biggest and loudest cheerleader, my one and only sibling…my big sister, a.k.a. Sissy!

Where I’ve experienced loss of many close family members, her transition hit the hardest! Life as I knew it changed that night.

How many times have I heard life is too short and can change in a blink of an eye… all those words weigh heavier than they ever have before! My strength was being tested to the point that I even questioned how was I going to survive.

The idea of committing suicide came to mind a few times. I came to realize just how selfish I was being to my parents, my husband and the rest of my family and friends, even though it made perfect sense to me.

I came to terms with myself, understood it was time to allow myself to truly grieve in a healthy manner because as they often say…Life Still Goes On!!!

I was told by someone that there was a purpose in this unimaginable pain. It would all make sense to me later and I found out they were right.

I’ve always felt that God created me to encourage others. To be totally honest, I never stopped being a source of encouragement and strength to others; even though I was hurting inside. I created a page on social media dedicated to people who have loved ones that have transitioned; a virtual support group.

I’ve become a Journal Advocate encouraging others to journal their feelings, or to write an open letter to the one who transitioned….things I did to help me heal. I call the current space I’m in Healing While Healing, because while I am on my personal journal to heal, I am helping others to heal as well!!!

It’s been through my moments of transparency I’ve been able to give others hope that they too can live again; that alone is truly a blessing!!!

Sometimes we get so caught up in life that we forget we are all here for a reason…a Divine Purpose.

I’m so happy that I am back on track again.

Back to writing, back to inspiring…finally working on that book I wanted to write for years… I’m simply allowing my light to shine once again…ready to be a blessing to the masses!!!

God is using me in such a way to reveal to others there’s nothing too big or small for God to handle, as long as you just trust Him!!! That’s exactly what I’m doing…TRUSTING GOD!!!

Purpose Nuggets!

It’s been through my moments of transparency I’ve been able to give others hope that they too can live again; that alone is truly a blessing!!!

Sometimes we get so caught up in life that we forget we are all here for a reason…a Divine Purpose.
