The other day I was talking to a friend on the phone.

We had been chatting for about an hour or so.

Then, we realized it was getting late and time to end the call.

As usual, I asked my friend, “How can I be praying for you?”.

They responded with their prayer request and proceeded to ask me the same question.

“How can I be praying for you, Breonna?”

Without any hesitation, I shared with my friend,

“Horniess. I need you to pray for my horniness!”

To my surprise, my friend said, “You know what, me too. I need you to pray for my horniness, too.”

When the phone call ended, I wondered, “What would have happened if I wasn’t transparent with my friend?”.

Let’s be honest, the word horny is not a word you and I normally hear discussed within church circles.

Yet, I believe it is a feeling many of us Christians have experienced and some are unsure how to manage those sexual feelings in singleness.

If you are one of those people, I believe you’ve come to the right place.

In fact, I want to help you!

For the past three years, God has been helping me to manage my sexual desires in singleness.

And, let me tell you, it ain’t easy!

You see, I ,too, understand how you may feel.

I know what it is like to have desires of wanting to look up pornography.

Having the strong urge to masturbate can be very uncomfortable and frustrating!

I also understand the feeling of wanting to engage sexually with someone to help release what you naturally feel…even if the experience only lasts for a few moments.

But, I have good news for you:

You do not have to handle what you are feeling on your own!

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In reality, Honey Bunches, you have the capability to remove yourself from any temptation you may face in singleness, including horniness!

Choosing to engage in sexual desires in singleness will only bring temporary fulfillment.

As I shared in last week’s post, feelings can be changed.

Meaning, you can change your mood when you are in the mood!

Let me share one way you can do just that.

R-U-N…RUN!

No seriously, run!

“Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:18NLT‬‬

If I can be a bit more transparent, there are times I still practice running from horniness.

Let me explain a bit further. 😳

If I am “in the mood”, I will literally get myself up, out, and away from the environment I was in that made me feel what I was feeling, running.

It doesn’t matter if I am lying in bed or a part of a conversation with someone…I will move around/away from the environment that was making me feel horny.

The next time you are experiencing horniess I encourage you to do the same!

Don’t stay there wallowing in those thoughts…

Get Up, Get Out, And Get Away From What Is Trying To Entice You To Sin!

Lust Nuggets!

You do not have to handle what you are feeling on your own!

Choosing to engage in sexual desires in singleness will only bring temporary fulfillment.
