When God Calls You Twice!

I may not know you, but I bet I can guess one thing about you without you telling me.

Now, I’m quite competitive!

For this reason, I’m so confident in this guess that if I get it right you’ll have to comment a ❤️ at the end of this post.

My guess is as a child whenever your mother repeated your name more than once, you knew to stop whatever you were doing and see why she was calling you!

Now, go ahead and drop that ❤️

In reality, I believe every parent holds this special gift.

And, I don’t believe this form of obedience stops after a child becomes an adult.

Till this day, if my mother calls me at least twice I know she means business!

Even if it’s inconvenient for me hearing my mom repeatedly call my name is like an internal automatic trigger that there is something important I need to be paying attention to!

By the same token, spiritually we need to develop this method with our Heavenly Father.

If God is calling our names, we need to press pause on what has our attention to focus on Him.

By God repeatedly calling our names, there is something up ahead in life we may can not see coming, but God can.

God loves us and He wants us to hear Him clearly especially if He repeats Himself!

When God calls our names more than once, an elevation in our lives is soon about to take place.

If you are anything like me, you love a good story!

That’s why today I would love to share with you a snippet of a Bible story where God repeatedly called a person then elevation happened.

There was a boy named Samuel who served a priest named Eli.

Before Samuel was born, his mother and God made an agreement that if God blessed her with a son, she would dedicate him back to God and the boy would be God’s for a lifetime.

What a powerful prayer!

Now, Samuel, the boy, served God by assisting with Eli in the tabernacle, church, quite often.

The Bible also says in those days messages and visions from God were rare.

One night, Eli had gone to bed and Samuel was sleeping in the Tabernacle.

“Suddenly the Lord called out, “Samuel!” “Yes?” Samuel replied. “What is it?” He got up and ran to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?” “I didn’t call you”, Eli replied. “Go back to bed.” So he did.

Then, God called Samuel two more times and Samuel continued to go back to Eli.

The Bible gave further details that Samuel didn’t know the Lord because he never heard a message from Him before.

Finally, Eli realized God must of been calling Samuel’s name and shared the next time this happened say “Speak Lord, your servant is listening.”

When Samuel went back to bed, God called him again and Samuel said, “Speak Lord, your servant is listening.”

Then the Lord said to Samuel, I’m about to do a shocking thing in Israel. 1 Samuel 3:11

Just like our mothers and fathers, God wants us to go to Him when He is calling our names.

When God repeatedly calls us there is something purposeful soon happening in our lives!

Honey Bunches, I challenge you the next time you see or hear a scripture more than once to stop what you’re doing and seek God.

The next time you receive a reoccurring dream seek God immediately.

Your swift obedience could bring revelation to an answered prayer that will soon come your way!

Purpose Nuggets!

When God calls our names more than once, an elevation in our lives is soon about to take place.

When God repeatedly calls us there is something purposeful soon happening in our lives!
